Many of them will be confused while buying an LCD TV and they don’t know what kind of features should be for their LCD TV. When they walk into a TV showroom, the dazzling display of screens may be tempting them.
They have wide variety and the salesperson’s spiel can confuse rather than ease your. I can say some six features to be consider before buying an LCD TV,
· Resolution - We should look for the number of pixels per square inch or the number of rows and columns used to create the display. Most of the high-definition (HD) TVs have a resolution of 1920x1080 is referred to as 1080p. Here ‘p’ indicates progressive-scan format, which delivers a smoother image that stays sharp during motion.
· Contrast ratio – The difference in intensity of the brightest and the darkest colors. A better one is the standardized ANSI/ native/ static contrast ratio, which measures the difference between black and white simultaneously. TV makers rarely mention this as it is a smaller figure.
· Brightness – Luminance is the amount of light emitted by the screen and is measured in candelas per square meter(cd/ m2). A brightness rating of 55o cd/ m2 or higher is good, but it is better if you check this feature yourself while buying the TV.
· Ports and video inputs – first we should ensure that LCD TV has a composite video input as well as HDMI and USB ports. This video input is for attaching cable or satellite modems, while the HDMI is for hooking multimedia devices that require faster transmissions, such as gaming consoles and laptops. And also check whether it has USB port, this helps us to connect our pen drive, portable music player or mobile phone directly to our TV. So, check that it can play most video and audio formats.
· Aspect ratio and picture modes – The ratio of the screen’s width to its height. The wide screen 16:9 is great for movies. Ensure that the TV allows you to select screen formats, such as normal, wide and zoom.
· Response time and refresh rate – It is the minimum time necessary for a pixel to change its color or brightness. Most HDTVs have a time of 8 ms (millisecond), 4 ms or 2 ms. A lower number is better as it reduces ‘ghosting’ or blurring and shows a crisp transition to the new color.
Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!! So, do consider these things before buying LCD TV, by this you will not lose anything. It long lasts and worth it forever………………
