Robots, “Like A Real Runner”!

In this blog entry I’m gonna talk about the Robots. Robots have proven that they can do all sorts of things, from singing and playing instruments, to learning on their own, but the only limitation that robots have is their running speed and movement, but this latest robot could change that.

MABEL is the first bipedal robot with knees and it was first built in late 2008, but it has advanced a lot since 2008. It was only a year ago that the University of Michigan's MABEL biped robot was breaking its ankles trying to walk over rough terrain. Now the robot is defying death once again by becoming the world's fastest bipedal robot, with the ability to sprint at up to 10.9 kph and it can navigate through rough terrain at lower speeds on similar way as humans do.
Besides running, this robot can easily walk, but it’s definitely not the most silent robot that we saw. In addition, we have to mention that MABEL currently has limited movability but researchers are constantly working on it, and they are hoping to make it able to climb stairs in the future.

More specifically, MABEL is the world's fastest "kneed" bipedal robot, which just means that it's the fastest robot that can run in a similar manner to us humans, leaving those Toyota robots (4.3 kph) and ASIMO (3.7 kph) in the dust.
MABEL is quite impressive, and although it’s far from being used in everyday situations, we might see it running on its own someday in the future.
This bipedal technology, which can mimic a human's ability to run and climb over obstacles, may be used to help the disabled walk again, in rescue situations or as the basis of future vehicles that don't require roads or wheels to drive.
Well, this will be helpful to the disabled to climb the stairs and also helps in many ways for us. By this new technology, we are gaining many positive things. I think, this will come out, with still better features into the market.
