On Wednesdy, Sony plans to introduce tablets in India in line with its competitors such as Samsung who have entered into the segment.
Sony India Managing Director Masaru Tamagawa told reporters that they are launching Sony tablets in India this year and that will happen simultaneously with the global launch.
And he didn't give any further details on the new product but he specified that it will be Android-based. The company also declined to give at what price points the firm plans to launch and how it plans to position the tablet in the Indian market.
Last month, Sony Corporation had announced that they are developing two tablets, including S1(codename), which is optimised for media entertainment and S2 (codename), which is ideal for mobile communication and entertainment.
Analysts mentioned that sales in the tablet PC segment in India are expected to touch 1 million units over the next 12 months.
Well, i go with analysts that they will touch expected sales in India over next 12 months because of new technology which is Android-based tablets.
