‘Phablet’: Smartphone With Many Core On-The-Go Benefits!!!

According to O2 website, the Samsung Galaxy Note is coming to O2 in the UK this month. The device is already available in the UK although there’s not been too much support for it on the networks. The device is classed as a smartphone even though it has a very large 5.3 inch screen. The screen has 800 x 1280 pixels at a pixel density of 285 ppi. The screen is also Super AMOLED and is covered by Gorilla glass for extra strength from the elements.

 It is said that Samsung Galaxy Note runs the Android 2.3 operating system and has the TouchWiz 4.0 UI running on top. Although it already launched earlier this month the uptake by carriers hasn’t been that great. It’s a unique device and quite oversized but at the same time, justified with the stylus that makes it a decent note keeping companion. The Samsung is trying to create a new category of device with this 5.3-inch screened behemoth.

 Galaxy Note is just falling somewhere between the tablet and phone goal posts but it is larger than our average smartphone. It’s dimensions come in at 146.85 x 82.95 x 9.65mm yet, at 178g, it’s fairly light. In front, has only a Samsung logo and homescreen button visible to the eye. In the front facing 2MP camera and light sensor are there but almost impossible to see on the black model. On the top houses the 3.5mm headphone jack, left hand side holds only a volume rocker and there’s a power/lock-unlock button on the right. On the bottom, micro USB charging and syncing port can be located.

 It has 8MP camera with LED flash, and the speaker is located near the bottom of the rear and just above the dock for the ‘S-Pen’. It has either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage (which we can also expand by another 32GB with removable memory). It really gives a plenty of juice with its 2,500mAh battery.
