The Andrea SuperBeam Buds headset is a pretty good headset for usage in VOIP applications. I probably wouldn’t use it as my every day music headphones on my iPhones because I prefer more bass, but nevertheless the sound quality was very good. These headsets deliver Hi-Definition sound for all our social media and multimedia applications.
It features a unique boom-less design, each of the two earbuds has a microphone built-in enabling true binaural surround sound recordings. These two mics leverage Andrea’s patented Adaptive Beam Forming to cancel unwanted background noise without the need for a clunky boom mic stretching across our cheek to our lips.
SuperBeam provides;
· The headsets USB sound card supports CD quality sound of 16 bit and up to 44.1 kHz sample rates.
· 3D surround sound recording, a unique new audio capture and playback feature.
· Sleek “boom free” design with digital noise cancellation technology that is Skype Certified.
· Works with OS X Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion operating systems.
· Increased convenience, no need to position an annoying boom microphone in front of our lips.
The adaptive beam forming feature and noise cancellation only works with AudioCommander software, so these features aren’t available with mobile phones and the mobile adapter is a bit expensive, earbuds themselves expensive.
This product comes in black (SB-205B) and white (SB-205W). It also provides one year warranty and a carrying case is included with each purchase. There are two free downloads available from the company website that support the quality of the sound available to Mac users. The first, AudioCommander software, controls microphone and speaker noise reduction using preset tabs. The second, Mac USB Audio software, offers audio enhancement. It retails for a premium price of $129.95.
