Lower- Priced Version

   Apple is building cheaper 8GB iPhone 4. Asian suppliers have started manufacturing a lower-priced version of its hot-selling iPhone 4 with a smaller 8 gigabyte flash drive according to two people with knowledge of the matter. The flash drive is being manufactured by a Korean company, to reveal name of the company, later on Apple revealed that from Japan's Toshiba and South Korea's Samsung Electronics, because this information was not been made public.

   The sources mentioned that the existing iPhone 4 was first launched in June 2010 with 16 GB and 32 GB versions, with a white version added to the lineup in April. The 8GB version is expected to launch within weeks.

   Apple, which demands high levels of secrecy and security from suppliers and employees, declined to comment. Samsung also declined to comment.

   Some analysts mentioned that it is the cheaper 8GB iPhone 4, could help Apple boost sales in emerging markets.

  Coming to the price, it is hard to go below $200, so Apple will still need a completely new phone with low specifications for the emerging markets.

   In addition to the launch of the smaller iPhone 4, one source mentioned that Apple is targeting an end-September to launch for the next-generation iPhone 5 by confirming earlier reports on Apple follower blogsites and industry websites.

   The new iPhone, some use to call the iPhone 4S because of its largely identical appearance to the existing iPhone 4, with bigger touch screen, better antenna and an 8-megapixel camera. The iPhone 5'd two manufacturers have been told to prepare production capacity for up to 45 million units altogether. The phone will be made by Hon Hai and Pegatron.

  The users/consumers will be happy by knowing the next-generation iPhone 5 will be launch at the end-September. I feel very happy to know the features and technology used on it. Lets wait............

Luxury Sports Utility Car!!!

Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q
   Audi India, Luxury car maker, on Tuesday have launched a new version of its sports utility vehicle Q5 which priced ex-showroom, Mumbai, which lower than the existing range. This new version is powered by a 2.0 litre engine which will be hitting the roads from October this year. It is perfectly equipped to further strengthen their leadership position in the luxury SUV segment.

   Audi Q5, already has a broad fan base in India, this attractive price will now make this premium experience accessible to a wider customer base this statement was made by Audi India Head Michael Perschke. The existing versions of the Q5 is available between Rs 39.06 lakh and Rs 45.12 lakh in ex- showroom , Maharastra.

   The company is offering a wide range of vehicles in India including Audi A4, New Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi RS5, the super sports cars Audi R8, Audi R8 Spyder.

   Mr. Perschke mentioned that with the opportunity that India presents,  that they are confident of achieving their retail sales target of 5,000 cars by the end of 2011.

   And also he mentioned that their focus is on strengthening their portfolio through the introduction of products like the Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q which are extremely relevant for India and also the expansion of their dealer network.

   The company had sold 3,003 units in 2010. It has already crossed the last year’s figure in the first seven months of 2011.

   This is great, but it can't be afford by lower class and some of middle class people due to price of the product.

Multi-Touch Mouse!!!

     Microsoft has developed a new multi-touch mouse which is now available in shops and features a touch strip that, according to the company which makes navigating or it is  a interactive tool that makes doing almost every task with Windows 7 a breeze.

    This is a wireless laser mouse which comes with a nano receiver for a USB interface and it costs around 80 euros which means 114 dollars and it simplifies on-screen actions like scrolling, minimising/maximising, and docking with finger gestures.

Meanwhile, a Microsoft Research Cambridge team, including Shahram Izadi, Nicolas Villar, and John Helmes, had developed an articulated mouse prototype. The two groups decided to join forces and finally they were successful in their new research of Multi-Touch Mouse.

Nano-Sized Engineering!!!!!

    Scientists have developed a new microscope which can penetrate deep within materials and see details as small as a billionth of a meter without even using a lens.

   This new microscope was developed by physicists at University of California, San Diego by using a powerful computer programme to convert patterns from X-rays bouncing off materials into imager of objects as small as a one nanometre across, on the scale of a few atoms.

   Here's a example of superman's X-ray vision which allows him to look through walls to see the bad guys beyond, similarly, the nano vision is used to look at the different elements inside a material or to image viruses, cells and tissue in great detail.

   It has one of the most important applications that is, in nano-sized engineering.

   Astronomers use similar programmes to remove distortions from their images and even to sharpen the pictures sent back by the Hubble telescope, but the nano-vision technique is new.

   Researchers, to test the programme created a layered film made of the elements iron and gadolinium. Combined, the two magnetic materials crinkle into a series of magnetic domains that look like a maze or the ridges of fingerprints.

   Shpyrko mentioned by seeing and understanding how the materials self-assemble, you could create nano-production processes that are much more efficient than the current method of building materials atom-by-atom, Shpyrko said.

   Shpyrko also mentioned that by understanding magnetic materials at the nanoscale could lead to better magnetic data storage.

   X-ray nano-vision also helps to see inside the interface to diagnose the problem between the battery's electrodes and electrolyte degenerates when batteries degrade overtime. This helps to know how this happens or how to fix it inside the interface and solve the problem.

  Shpyrko made a statement that “With this microscope, we can actually look at this very difficult interface.”

  Thanks, making to forget of X-ray glasses by developing, X-ray nano-vision which helps to see tough interface. Great!!!!!

Ten Meter Long Periscope

    Finally today, long periscope developed for Kalpakkam reactor was dedicated to India.

    A 10-meter long periscope, indigenously developed for a nuclear reactor at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in Kalpakkam and claimed to be the longest in the world.

    The cost was Rs. 3.9-crore for periscope, manufactured by city-based Visual Education Aids (P) Ltd (VEA) in collaboration with IGCAR and others, it was handed over to Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam (Bhavini), Kalpakkam, by IGCAR Director S.C. Chetal.

    Mr. Chetal mentioned that periscope is the longest in the world and would be used in the Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor to view objects inside the reactor during maintenance

    VEA Director J. Balu mentioned that the periscope will be taken soon to Kalpakkam and it can be remotely operated and also has motorised facilities for scanning the area of interest and image zooming and rotation.

    Mr. Balu mentioned that the Applied Spectroscopy Division, Division of Remote Handling and Robotics and Centre for Design and Manufacture of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Mumbai also gave hands to this two-year long project.

    This technology develops the fame of our country India because it is a longest periscope in the world and it encourages the youngsters for the future, how to go about with the science and technology?. It also helps our nation by supplying the power without often power-cuts. Lets hope there will not be a often power-cuts in the future............
